It’s been a long wait, but we finally got a call from DreamCruiser, that the van was done – except for the side cabinet. They got the wrong one delivered, but only noticed when they were about to install it. It was a cabinet for the long model and our transporter is the short model. We got a bit nervous, because they don’t make the grey color that we chose anymore, but luckily Vaning had enough materials for a new cabinet.
They all had to go to “Reise & Freizeit” in Munich so we had to wait 2 weeks to get it delivered and installed. We went up there and got Viggo without the cabinet and we could start decorating and putting our own mark on it, while waiting on the last cabinet.
What they did:
- Diesel heater
- Insolation
- Window in the side door
- Wooden ceiling with spot lights
- Extra/separate battery under the driver seat (for lights, fridge and heating system)
- Electrical installations
- New floor
- Sofa/bed and kitchen module with sink and fridge
- The plastic parts under the taillights was painted in the same color as the car (they were just black before)
- Fake windows look for all the “non windows”
The painting of the 2 parts under the taillights caused some delayed, because they couldn’t continue with the electrical installation until they got those parts back from the painter. Foiling the “windows” was also an extra that they had done for us, because they knew someone nearby who could do it. Of course, those things meant that the car was with them for 4 weeks, instead of the 2 weeks it usually takes – but, we also avoided having to drive around to the painter and foiling and have the trouble of getting the van back and forth to the different places.
