Today we went shopping for wine, pasta and other delicacies 😛 Spotted this Hoopoe in a tree on our way out from the campsite. We had stopped and looked for the Scops owls, as we found the tree where they were roosting last night, but no luck this time. Puff pastry in the Omnia oven….
It is very noisy at the campsite, so we went exploring some of the local birding spots. Black-winged stilt. Greater flamingo. Pied avocet. Risotto for dinner at the campsite. Ahh quiet at the site, so we can enjoy the sound of Scops owls calling from some nearby trees.

Slow morning – everybody did some stuff on their own and in the afternoon we went for a drive in the area. Toast for lunch. Nachos for dinner. We only brought our analog cameras on todays drive, so we have to wait for more photos 😛
We arrived in Austria late thursday evening after a really long drive – normally the drive takes 4 hours, but because of roadwork it took us 8 hours. This year we decided to spend Christmas in Alsace and we booked a mobilhome in Neuf Brisach. Pure relaxation and absolutely no stress – just good food, winetastings, boardgames and some sightseeing in the local area.
Sylvenstein area is our goal today. Lunch at Sylvenstein Speicher. On our way back we passed a local dairy farm and we just had to stop and get some local cheese 🙂 They also had some liqueur from a local distillery. Evening coffee before driving back home.
One last meet up with friends before our vacation is over. We tried out the cookies again and this time we had better luck and ended up with a full batch of eatable cookies 😀
